I just wanted to tell all my Bowman family Merry Christmas. We don't get to see too much of each other, but I do think about you all.

Things have been so busy for me the last couple of years. I am going to finish work on my MA this week. Yay! Yay! Double Yay! I also started teaching at DSC which has been a huge learning experience for me.

The kids are growing like crazy. Cricket is doing competitive cheerleading. I will try to post when her competitions are just in case anyone wants to come watch.

Tilly has been busy with dance and winning awards at school. She just won reflections for our Council in theatre. I will see if I can post her movie on my blog.

Dewy is tall and crazy. He had to go to two preschools this semester because of my work schedule and he hated it. He is back down to one next sememster. He loves playing basketball, doing anything with Jon, and going to gym with Jack!

Back from Australia

Wayne is back from Australia. He had a great time catching up with his four grandchildren and his three children. He also caught up with many wonderful friends, and his brother Graham. He brought me back a didgeridoo and a boomerang painted with Aboriginal art (pictures to follow). I have a lot of work before I can play it and make is sound like what the native people sound like. But I love it! I did miss Wayne, but I stayed so busy the time flew by.

I thought I just had to get this out of inactivity, and I really don't have anything much to post, so I'll just let you all know that on Wednesday Wayne will fly out to Australia to see his children and Grand children. He will, of course, catch up with his friends, and you can bet he'll be out every night. I can't imagine having four grand children I had never seen, so in my opinion it is long overdue. So we'll post more about his trip when he returns.

Hi everyone,
Hooray!!! the winter is finally leaving. I know... Utah and Idaho still got a little snow today, but we are finally starting to get more nice days than bad weather!

Now it is getting time to get serious planning your trip to the reunion and we need to get a more final count. I know we all have conflicts and some may not be able to come. Those unable to come we will miss you. Those who come, we shall have a fantastic fun time!!! if you are not coming - I will be sending out instructions for sending us handprints of each of your family members for a quilt i am planning.

Reminders:
Date: July 22-25th; We have to leave Saturday by noon. :(
Location: Church camp in the mountains above Ogden (Near Huntsville)
Amenities: 2 lodges (open space), swimming pool, places to play sports, Shower/Bath house
Lodging: may sleep indoors (lodge-no beds), camp in your tent or RV, etc.
Plans: great food, great fun, great memories, baseball, etc.

If anyone has special requests for meals, a great recipe to suggest, activities, etc. - now's the time. We do plan on getting all the food prior to the event and then sharing costs so that no-one has to mess with hauling food except baby food item needs and special diet requirement needs.

So, let me know. I am so excited, The countdown is on! Only 73 more days. Love, Cyndee

Dear family,
As you know Loyce, Pam, and I have been working on the reunion. There are a few changes. The date has been changed to July 22-25th. This was due to our desire to find a location more cost effective. We now have reservations confirmed at this church camp. (See link below). Pam and Loyce drove up a few weeks ago to check it out and take pictures. I think it will be a good place to meet. Our reservation dates are July 22 through July 25. I think we have to be out by noon or something like that. Loyce took pictures (attached) it is fall and it was raining a little. Valley View is actually a Layton Stake owned camp. There are no beds provided but there is the A-frame that will hold twenty-five to thirty people and some can sleep in the lodge. The tent sites are right around the cabin and lodge. It has a swimming pool, horse shoe pit, sand volleyball pit, baseball backstop and diamond. It has a nicely kept lawn around the swimming pool and lodge. There are good roads and well marked paths. There are bathrooms in the lodge but no showers. The showers and bathrooms are by the swimming pool and there is a bathroom with showers several yards from the lodge. It is about four or five miles from Pineview Reservoir. If anyone wants to bring their boat, that would be great too.

I thought we could set up some space for mom and dad in the lodge since there is a bathroom there. The rest us of can either pitch tents or set up space in the lodge or A-Frame as space allows. I think we are going to bring our trailer and whoever else has a camper/trailer/RV, etc, there is a space for parking these.

We have discussed many options, but think that our best plan is to buy all the food etc and have have everyone split the costs. That way we won't have to all bring different groceries and can buy in bulk, since we are going to have a large group. I am so excited to see everyone! :) We will get everyone more details soon. I hope the date change does not effect anyone negatively! Let me know any specific ideas you may have that you want to do. 1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper, bags are just lazy and not as fun to open.
2. Real tree or Artificial? There’s nothing like the smell of a REAL tree.
3. When do you put up your Christmas Tree? Ooh, that’s a tough one, I think that right after Thanksgiving I’ll want to decorate for Christmas but I’ll have to wait a little bit longer to put up the tree because I wouldn’t want it to be dead by the time Christmas actually got here.
4. When do you take the tree down? New Year's
5. Do you like eggnog? I love it, I just treated myself to some this last week after I finished a bunch of paper and a few exams.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? There are a few that stick out to me: my first BMX, my sega genesis, my letterman’s jacket, my longboard skateboard (that was really good, so good that it got stolen).
7. Hardest person to buy for? I don’t know, I would imagine that I’m pretty hard to shop for because I never know what I want. But when I do know I am pretty specific and therefore easy to shop for, so I don’t know.
8. Easiest person to buy for? My future wife, I’ll just get her things for the kitchen and more cleaning supplies, she’s gonna love it, maybe that’s why I’m not married yet.
9. Do you have a nativity scene? Nope, maybe someday.
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail, but I haven’t done that since my mission.
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Reflective ankle straps that ensured that my slacks wouldn’t get caught in the chain of my bike, that was a pretty good one. “Gee, thanks. What is it?”
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? A Christmas Story
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Christmas Eve is on the 23rd right? So that means either the 22nd or 23rd I’m there.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Nobody’s ever given me a twelve pack or a bunch of 2-liter sodas for Christmas, if so I would have put that under worst gift ever.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Egg nog, and yes I know that it says “eat”, that’s the best part, the thicker the better, you have to chew that egg nog.
16. Lights on the tree? I like the classic look of white lights on the tree but there’s a special place in my heart for the color flashing lights we had on our tree growing up.
17. Favorite Christmas song? Angels We Have Heard on High
18. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? You know Dasher, and Dancer, and Prancer, and Vixen, Comet, and Cupid, and Donner, and Blitzen (he must have been a football player). But do you recall the most famous reindeer of all Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer….
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? I think I’ll go for a star.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Pajamas on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas morning.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Commercialization.
23. Favorite ornament theme or color? I don’t really know what this question means, I would have to say Christmas would be the theme I’ll be shooting for…
24. Favorite food for Christmas dinner? Fresh rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh rolls, ham, fresh hot rolls, stuffing, left over rolls heated up in the microwave, green bean casserole, and let’s see, what else….rolls, hot rolls, fresh hot rolls would be nice.
25. What do you want for Christmas this year? Flash drive, shoes, a pony, fresh hot roll recipe, burt’s bees wax, ipod…
26. Who is most likely to respond to this? I’m probably the last one.

1. Hmmm...seven random things about myself. I secretly want to be a break dancer. Probably won't ever happen. But seriously I love to dance and be danced with. I wish I was good at it. You'll catch me dancing throughout my days. When I unload the dishwasher, I often have random outbursts of dancing, even though I don't have much rhythm. People who witness me on a regular basis can testify to that. Yes I'm the person you'll catch swaying to the music all alone in my car:)

2. I LOVE Utah! Surprised? I used to not. But I'm feeling SOO much better this year with the seasons changing now that I'm being treated for hypothyroidism. I think it's the perfect place to live, and an even better place to raise a family (not there yet :) I'm all about the outdoors. You'll never find me at a happier frame of mind than when I'm playing outside. I get gorgeous mountains to look at everyday. I go hiking when I can. Snowshoeing, Sledding, Four wheeling and snowmobiling (with the right equipment.) Snowboarding in Utah is an amazing experience. I have lakes all over the place to play in, and go boating in :) 4 gorgeous seasons. Don't think I could live in a place that didn't have fall. I think the leaves changing in the canyons are the most beautiful thing I've ever witnessed. I have great neighbors. But most of all, I think Utah has great people. I've always been able to find fun friends who support a similar belief.

3. I love flossing. Love it. I normally carry a pack with me in my purse to floss when those sudden urges happen..but I'm out :( I should probably buy a new one. Donations for this cause are accepted. Send money or floss to my parents address!
(yes that is a piece of floss hanging from my mouth)

4. I really love to create things. From drawing (mostly the human face), molding clay, playing the piano, to woodwork. I love the creation of things. I like to make my own music. I'm not the best note reader, but I can mimic any tunes on the piano with some practice. Most of all I like to make up random songs. I've built shelves, a night stand, picture and mirror frames. I love the feeling of creating something from scratch :)
5. I'm a love finatic. Hopeless romantic. Every summer since I was about 12 years old I would start writing a few of my own romantic novels. I love reading about love, I love seeing love, I love writing about love, I love the thought of love, but I seem to refuse to fall in love! I'm such a Bowman. To independent. Yes it's true I'm going to wait till my prince has guts enough to stand up for himself and make me fall in love with him :) (Sorry it's not the fella in the picture..just my image of what love should be...fun and friendship..it gets you through the hard times)

6. I'm a soccer/yoga/workout fanatic! I love the feeling of being fit and eating healthy. I don't care much about being skinny, I just love wanting to do physically hard things, (like running trails while hiking) and being able to because I work hard at staying in the best shape my body will allow. I can do anything when I put my mind to it. Soccer is so much funner when you can run and not feel like you wanna die from being out of breath. I love feeling flexible and making my body twist in cool ways without feeling pain. I hope to get certified eventually to teach yoga. And I'm working towards a marathon.

7. I love LOVE LOVE LOVE Family, and friends. I feel proud to say I can look back on my life and not pick out one single enemy or person I just don't like. I've made it a HUGELY Important factor in my life never to be judgemental or hold grudges. Towards myself and others. I credit my heavenly father for blessing me with the ability to see people for who they really are. When I lose the spirit in my life, I lose this ability. I'm grateful for the gospel, and the principles it teaches, especially towards the family. My family are some of my greatest friends. I don't think I could have made it through this world or become the person I am without my immediate and extended family in my life. I never miss a family event if at all possible. When I'm near family, I laugh a little harder, and smile a little more. For me, there is no greater feeling in this world than the feeling you get while being near family.

1. I love love love my children! I too wanted 10 Jillra, and it broke my heart when my I saw that my life was not going to allow me to have that. Still, I feel the most self worth as a Mom (yes, even though I have made lots of mistakes). Nothing has brought me the joy that I felt raising my children.

2. I love love love my grandchildren! I know everyone knew that was coming. There is nothing like the babies of those children that are yours, only now grown up (and just how did that happen so fast?). I just don't see them often enough, but there is no one I would trust more to take care of them than my own children.

3. I love to be active, I ride my stationary bike ten miles a day, and would do more if I had the time. I also love yoga, but I like to do yoga with Loyce and Bobbi best, not by myself. I love to play volleyball, soccer, baseball, and swim. Some of these things knock everything out of me now, but I still love them. I don't like to watch sports on TV though, I like to play them.

4. I love to create things, flower gardens, quilts, yummy food, and crafts. I like to be able to finish them quickly, so if it takes too long or I can't do it well, I lose interest quickly. There are still tons of things I would like to try, like carving, woodworking, and welding... weird, huh?

5. I love teaching first grade. I love seeing light bulbs turn on while I teach. I love teaching in a school where my students need the stability of a safe environment. I love to make my students feel special, and successful. I hate report cards!

6. I love the Gospel, I have always felt the love of my Savior in my life, even when I did and maybe especially when I made mistakes in my life. The number one thing I 'hope' for in my life is that my family can be together forever in the hereafter.

7. I am a bit of a perfectionist, without having the talent to be perfect. S0 I am constantly frustrated. I am constantly trying to find what it is that I can do, that may be I can do differently and amazingly well. Maybe in the next life... ha!

Reunion discussion

Hi everyone. Update on reunion plans. We have had a wonderful opportunity arise to have our reunion at a church camp up the Ogden Canyon at substantial savings to all of us. This is not definite yet, but wanted to get feedback from everyone. Pam and Loyce drove up and checked it out and said it is great. there is a huge lodge similar to the main building at Vashon Island for those at that reunion. This lodge has a second story for sleeping quarters, with showers and plenty of bathroom for everyone. For those who desire more private sleeping quarters there are campsites where each person pays $1.75/night. The lodge itself is much less than the cabin and we can buy all the food and pay for the lodge for much less per person and < age 3 aren't charged at all. i will also post on the Bowman Brigade Blog for feedback.
Fun things on site include:
Place to play base ball, volleyball, basketball, horse shoes, soccer, and ping pong
River to float right on site
Resevoir < 10 miles for cliff jumpimg
Monastary near for tours
and more......
The one difference is we may have to bump back one week to W-Sat the 22, 24th of July. Please let me know how you all feel about this. Here is the link with some photgraphs. If I missed anyone's address please forward (I think Mariah and Daniel DeWitt, and Katie's are missing)

Mellissa's reception in Kanab

Last night was a reception for Mellissa and Chuck. It was held outdoors, and was so beautiful. The cake was so pretty (my picture didn't do it justice, but maybe you can see it clearer if you click on it), and you could tell a lot of hard work went into it. I'm so proud of the Jim Bowman family. All of them worked hard to make sure it turned out just right.

Navajo Bridge

This is the bridge that was only a few miles from our house in Navajo Springs. It is still amazing. Sadly the homes in Navajo Springs have fallen into disrepair, and are being renovated for the Navajo's. The state of Arizona no longer have the lease on that land.

I took Wayne to see the dam, it is harder to do through it (only guided tours now) and we didn't have time for that, but it is still fabulous and amazing how big it is, and all the water it holds back. Wayne was impressed by it!

I wanted to post some pictures from the Temple, but the memory card did not fall into my hands...excuse me, hand. ~ha, ha~ I think Mellissa & Charles have it with them on the honeymoon in California. Bowman's N' Bear Lake

We spent three nights camping near Bear Lake, Idaho. We had a great time on the Lake and around the camp fire. Too much food, no flushies, plenty of mesquitos, lots of sun, a tour of Minnetonka Caves, boat rides, fish but not on our hooks, memories to last a life time! HAPPY CAMPERS --- wornout from working too hard to play so fun! BEAR LAKE 2009 or BUST!

Most of you know Mellissa went to Switzerland with the Art department from Utah State for a month of Study Abroad. They left June 1st and will return July 1st. Yes! Just in time to get married! I thought I'd post this picture she sent home. They are traveling all over and taking photos, sketching, and drawing. Her major is Graphic Design. She said she would like to minor in photography, but someone told her that was 'lame' to major AND minor in the same department, Art...(giggle). Oh, well. This picture is her in front of some castle, loaded down with all her gear.
The first week they were there, they hiked up to a Monastary (sp?), and lived with and as Monks for 3 days. Today, there was a group of LDS people that all traveled to the Swiss Temple and did a session. It was about a 2 hour train ride from where they are staying. But that was a real treat for her to be able to go there. I'll post more about the wedding later...Stay Tuned

Honolulu Marathon

Well I know that it's been a while since I've posted anything on the blog so I guess it's my turn for an update. So I've been thinking for a long time that I've always wanted to do a marathon. So I decided that I'm going to run in the Honolulu Marathon in December. I started training yesterday. I found this marathon workout schedule online, it was a schedule for 37 weeks but I only have 28 weeks so that's where I'm going to start. So yesterday I ran 6 miles and today I ran 5 miles, I rest tomorrow, run 5 miles on Friday, and then 8 miles on Saturday, putting me at 24 miles for the week. I'm really excited to do this and I'm glad that I'll have something to push me to stay in good shape. But I'm also announcing this to all of you which means you all have to occasionally check up on me to make sure that I'm staying on track. I'm not looking to win or anything and I don't want to just see if I can just survive the 26.2 miles, I want to enjoy it and feel good throughout it. Wish me luck.

Kalli graduated Magna Cum Laude from Layton High School on Thursday May 29, 2008. The ceremony was held at Weber State University Dee Events Center. We are so proud of her. She worked very hard to graduate with honors. She has a scholarship to Utah Valley University in Orem. She plans to study dental hygiene! She is currently on her senior trip in St. George with several high school girls friends! Ugh! It's just plain painful somedays to watch our children grow up!

What should have been another great cookout on Antelope Island turned out to be a battle with the bugs! Hundreds, thousands, no millions of tiny gnats swarmed us immediately as we left our vehicles. Determined to eat our hotdogs and hamburgers we did every thing possible to cover our heads! Pam brought food covers and saved the day; well almost! Our evening was short lived; no watching the sunset on top of Buffalo Lookout this year! MORE MEMORIES just not the ones we wanted! We were left with bites all over our heads, ears, eyes, neck................... :(

I just wanted to let everyone know that there will be a 5K or 1mile run on Memorial Day to benefit Katie and the girls. It starts on Monday the 26th at 8am. You can preregister at 26.2 (the running store) in American Fork or the day of. The day of registration closes at 7:30 so it might be easier to do it before hand. Also it will cost five dollars more if you register the day of. If you pre-register the cost will be $15 for the 5k or $10 for the 1 mile. If you plan on going as a family (children under 18), the cost is $50 for the 5k up to four people. Also if you know anyone that would like to make a donation or be a sponsor (the get their names on all the shirts) that is a possiblity as well. You can go to the blog at ryancoxmemories.blogspot.com or go to 26.2 for more info. We hope to get as many people their as possible so spread the word. Thanks.

Letti wanted to know who Everett looks like. When he was first born I thought that he looked like Cael, but I don't think that anymore. When my mom came here she said that she thinks Everett looks like Bo. So, here are pictures of Bo, Cael, and Everett. After seeing the picture of Bo I have to agree . I'm pretty sure that all of the boys are pretty close in age in these pictures. Bo was a few days old, Cael was about a week old, and Everett was 3 or 4 days old.

G'Mornin Family........ I got al call from Aunt Cyndee a few minutes ago (and actually last night, but I didn't check my messages to return the call :) she asked that I post this info on our family blog. We have set the dates for July 15 (check in is at 4:00 p.m.), 16, 17, and 18 2009 (check out is Sunday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m.). We have decided on Bear Lake Lodge. It is a full log lodge with 6 bedrooms, 5 bath on 13 acres (We can also sleep in tents or bring RV's). There are 6 rooms, so if you must have a room, and do not want to sleep in tents, or don't own an RV you need to contact Aunt Cyndee as soon as possible.

The cost is figured per person (sorry, they count young children/babies the same) as of right now with 65 confirmed, the price is $70.15 a body, and will need to be paid by April 15, 2009. I know for some of the bigger families this may seem like a lot, but try to remember that a lot of us should have our income tax returns around that date :) and we have a year to save. Also, we think that it would be fun and fair to have a family take care of one meal (i.e. Cooks-Breakfast, T. Bowmans-Dinner, etc.) lunch will be taken care of through money from our deposit (lunch meat, bread, cheese, chips) Please if you have any input it is all welcomed whether through blog, email, or phone......we'd love everyone to enjoy themselves, so suggest what might help please. Hi everyone, I really need help from everyone! We (Pam, Loyce, and Leisa and I) have decided to hold a Bowman family reunion next year and I need responses for who is in ... :) In order to find a spot, we need approximate numbers. Get me the numbers quickly and I/we will find a location and get you dates so t will be on your plans for next summer. So here is what I need:

Email or contact all the family members you know and let them know of this event for summer 2009.

Please let me know also if you can't come
Send any ideas also

This is just the first phase. I can tell you there will be many more phases that we will need help on. I am planning on utilizing Loyce's idea of each family (like Tom) would notify all their children, etc. and take care of it that way. You only think that Joshua Porter Bowman is a quiet young man! This is a great photo showing his true sense of humor! He and Bobbi were showing each other different exercise moves on our exercise ball. While Bobbi and I were concentrating on the computer screen he came up with this move. He said, "Hey Bobbi, have to ever tried this move!" It was so funny! I made him pose for a picture which is an amazing feat in and of itself. Oh my Goodness! I haven't seen or talked to most of you in so many years! Bobbi, Calle, & Porter were infant/toddlers last time I saw you all. I am so excited Mom and Leisa told me about this so maybe I can keep in touch with you all!!! I will try "NOT" to be a cook and turn this blog entry into a novel, but...I am Bill's daughter so look out, lol!!

*A bit about me :) ~

I have been married for 12 years to my sweet husband Hal and I have 3 kiddos, a step-daughter Lacy who just turned 14. My Haliee Girl will be 10 April 20 *sniff* she is a doll, kind hearted, smart, and all around a really good girl. Slightly OCD, lol, just kidding but with her parents she had no choice! Haliee is in every club, activity, chorus, etc. she can involve herself in! She loves Softball. And Drew will be 7 May 31 *double sniff* He is my baby boy and since we can't have any more babies is doomed to be required to get all the snuggles I had for future kids, poor boy, lol! He is also a really good kid loves sports of all kinds, he just finished basketball and is starting baseball. He is great in school and he and Haliee are almost twin close it is really amazing to watch. Again slightly OCD, lol, I would love to blame genetics, but...I am thinking I have to take responsibility for this character trait!! He also definitely is on his own time agenda! Patience is a virtue!! They love love love the boat and can knee board all on their own! They got ski's from The Easter Bunny so look out, lol! I have a small online boutique business when I am not taxiing the kiddos, which I love, as I work from home. We moved from Bakersfield to Coeur d' Alene, Idaho in 2004 and I absolutely LOVE it here! We are about 25 minutes east of Spokane, Wa. It is beautiful and a much better environment to raise babies! Although...it did snow just yesterday...in APRIL, ugh! LOL! I do love the snow but not so much in April! It could be a little closer than 7 hours from Grandma and Grandpa too! Ok, ok, I said brief bio right, lol! Here are a few pics of my family! Dear family, while the very tragic circumstances of Ryan's death brought many of us to Utah this week, it was very special to get to see loved ones that we have not seen for many months and/or years. It makes me feel so strange to see children as adults with children of their own. Sue would be so proud of her children and gratified to see the support they are all giving Katie at the time of her terrible loss. I hope Katie felt her spirit there because many of us did. The tributes to Ryan were beautiful and we also shared his special spirit when he and Katie visited us in Idaho. Their girls are so cute and watching all of Sue's grandchildren together made me smile to think of how much fun she would have been having with these grandbabies. It was sad to imagine losing so much and Katie having to deal with such a loss. I was glad to be able to spend a little time with everyone, but it always make me sad to realize how much time has gone by between visits. Life is a fragile thread that changes so quickly and it again makes me realize our own vulnerability. Ryan set a great example of a wonderful young man who lived a full life and found such happiness and joy with Katie and their girls. Ryan William Cox, 28, of American Fork, passed away tragically, Saturday March 29, 2008 as a result of a motorcycle accident at the Little Sahara Sand Dunes.Ryan was born April 17, 1979 in American Fork to Michael Ray and Deborah Van Orden Cox. He grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1997. He then served an LDS Mission in the West Indies.Ryan and Katie DeWitt were married on December 8, 2000 in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. He became the successful business owner of a roofing and construction company. Most importantly he was a devoted father to his three beautiful daughters. He enjoyed life to the fullest and spread that joy to everyone he met. CAST! Jamie is sad to tell that she is sporting a large heavy white cast on her left arm. She was playing at a friends house on their trampoline. As she was getting off one of the little boys pushed her and she came off hard landing on her left arm. Both bones where broken as you can see in the x-ray picture. We are pleased to report that the bones went back in place nicely. She has had to miss school because she has to keep the arm elevated for five days to reduce swelling. She is anxious to have a real pink cast hopefully in ten days or so!

Today was mismatch day at school. The kids showed their spirit by wearing two different shoes, doing funky things with their hair, and wearing plaid with stripes, and a tie with sweats and thermals. It was a fun morning for me :) I just wish they had a full day at school, instead they get out at 11:15 today. My day is shot :(

It was a mouth-watering celebration! Navaho Tacos of the very best kind (scone dough from Bowman's). Lemon Pie, Blueberry Creme Pie and Strawberry Short Cake! Oh my! It was such a great feast! Tom got a memory foam for his bed, which I am pleased to report has helped him out very much. He is able to sleep longer at night and does not wake up with back pain. And, he got some nice tools, a combo kit (rechargeable drill, circular saw & light). He was happy! The big black candles are from his fortieth birthday. We use them over and over. Each one represents a decade of his life! There are six smaller candles on that cake too! Whew! Old I tell ya - OLD!

Has anyone ever heard of snow shoeing? Well, this weekend I had the privilege of trying it out..Oh my goodness, I loved it. It's like walking on top of 2 feet of powder without falling in! I guess I'm a bit a nature nerd but i absolutely loved it. If you ever get the opportunity, then go. The picture I'm posting is of a tree that had tipped over. We (just some friends and I) crawled up it and jumped off the end...I'm in mid air if you can't tell.

Anyways, last night I was home doing Yoga with my mom. It's a little over a month since I've done it. I forgot how amazing it is. Of any workout I've ever done (I've tried them all) I've been the most successful with Yoga. Yup, these Bowman thunder thighs I've got going on, are getting a little smaller. Yoga has so many different types of workouts, anyone can do it. I can't tell you how much it's changed my life. Because of the breathing technique, along with the stretching, it lengthens your muscles while filling them with oxygen and helps you to loose weight. There is no other workout out there quite like it. After I started doing Yoga, a little over a year and a half ago, Not only was there a change in my body, but it helped me mentally. It teaches peace of mind, and acceptance of self. Anyways, even if you aren't looking too loose any weight, it really just feels so good. I want everyone to at least try it once. That's my Yoga challenge. My mom (aunt Loyce) and Pam have some pretty good tapes of it that you can purchase online, if you don't have the opportunity to go to a class. I'll post a website where you can buy the video's from when I get them from my mom.

How about this? What, more snow in Utah? What's the big deal. This is a blizzard. The wind is so very cold, and the snow turns to ice on it's way down, and well, I'm home now and plan to stay here. Hopefully tomorrow won't be more of the same. Valentines Day during a blizzard wouldn't be a lot of fun for the children (or for anyone). Miss you guys, this weather wouldn't be as effective with the warmth of family around. I love you all!

Do you ever have those nights where you are lying in bed trying so hard to fall asleep and your mind just wanders to the most random thoughts ever??? That is what I was doing last night. I wanted to share my randomness and see if you guys agree or disagree or comment on your own randomness.
When I was younger, probably like 10ish, I used to confuse some actors with each other. I would never do it now, but for some reason I always did when I was younger. Here are those actors. Tell me what you think about it.

My Update!

Last weekend I went up to Bakersfield to see my beautiful pregnant sisters. I also helped Neil work in the new ping pong table. It was so good to see them and spend time with them. I hope that I'll be able to do it on a more regular basis.

I just received a calling in my single's ward as the ward mission leader. That should be fun eh? That means I get to go to church early every sunday to attend the Bishop's Counsel Meeting. Well I guess when you have a 1pm sacrament meeting you can't really call going to church before 1 "early". But I'm excited to have a calling again.

Work is going really well. January is supposed to be the slowest month, February picks up a little bit and then it starts picking up really good. So I jumped in the mix at the right time. January was a good time to get trained when it wasn't to crazy. I made $130 just on tips alone on Saturday. I got the business license and the fictitious name statement all situated last week and today I set up my business banking account, and the business cards are in the mail baby. So wish me luck, I'm really excited to start something of my own. Something that I can build up from scratch. Now let's see if we can get some clients.

I'm a blogger. Can you believe it? I've never done this before so please excuse my blogging skills. They are certainly lacking.
Just to inform you all about life in Logan...Last week it warmed up to a whopping 40 something degrees here..only for about a day. We're about back to -10. My apartment acquired some new tenants because of the warm weather. Ants. We can't seem to get rid of them. I woke up last night in a sweat, and started hitting the walls and itching my body...weird? I know. I was having a nightmare that ants were crawling all over my walls, my bed, and my body. I couldn't sleep after that. We vacuum them up every day. We should probably invest in some bug killer. Any suggestions?
Next on the list, last night my roommates Jamie, Jessie and I had a dance party for over an hour...all by ourselves. After that Jamie and I put on our snowboarding boots, and took our boards on campus to what we call Old Main Hill (it's pretty steep) and snowboarded down the ice hill wearing shorts and a jacket at 10:30 P.M. It was a freezing cold blast..but I think I hurt my already damaged tail-bone. I ran into an ice jump and turfed it pretty hard. Landing on ice in shorts doesn't feel so good. Doesn't that make you miss college?
Well, life is good. We're on our 4th snowstorm of the week and I'm going snowboarding tomorrow! Fresh powder..yay!

Well I have some new and exciting news, exciting to me anyways. I am officially a business owner. I haven't made any money yet but officially today I have a business license from the city of Ventura recognizing me as the sole proprietor of B&D Auto Detailing. I'm really excited about this, I enjoy cleaning cars and I really want to do something that I enjoy. Wish me the best and I love you and miss you all.
